No Target IR LED light when IR signal is pointed at it
- Check fresh batteries in Remote Control
- Check Splitter, Modulator and Target LED
- If no power LED on splitter or modulator- refer Video Distribution troubleshooting
- If power LED on both splitter and modulator is on, check emitter lead connection / cable and position on product. Dependant upon sensitivity of the IR receiver on the AV equipment, optimal placement of the emitter heads may require a process of trial and error
- Check the Wall plate has no capacitor in it
- Check there is no DC block in use on this output
- Check the IR splitter is powered by the Modulator Input only i.e. No plug pack at splitter and remote power switch on the modulator is in the “on” position
- Check all Splitters used in this setup are from the IR range only
IR LED on Target is on all the time: - Plasma Friendly??
- Check IR target is new “plasma friendly” target
- If not, swap to a new plasma friendly target
- At each connected target or at Splitter, disconnect outputs to TV’s until IR LED at Modulator goes off. This identifies which IR Target is source of noise or fault. Noise may be electrical or optical.
- Next, cover the front of the offending IR Target.
- If the IR Data light turns off, the IR Target is ‘seeing’ a source of IR noise, such as a solid state fluorescent lamp
- If the light does not go out, the problem may be radiated electrical noise from the TV. Reposition this IR Target. If repositioning the IR Target does not help, the TV may be conducting noise from its input. Place a DC block between the IR Target and the TV.
AV Device not responding to remote target IR signals:
- Check target LED light is on when IR signal is pointed at it
- Check splitter IR LED light (if available) is on when IR signal is transmitting
- Check emitter head placement NOTE: Do not place emitter head directly over IR sensor
- Dependant upon sensitivity of the IR receiver on the AV equipment, optimal placement of the emitter heads may require a process of trial and error
